Over 72 years ago, Franklin Coach Lines was established by its founders, Franklin and Doris Smith. The bedrock values they instilled in 1951—integrity, honesty, excellence, and a commitment to personalized service – continue to steer the company in today’s fast-paced and competitive landscape.
From its inception, the company has remained a closely-knit family venture. Presently, ownership is held by Craig Smith, their youngest son, along with his children, Matt Smith and Victoria Smith. Craig, who assumed leadership in September 2010, has been immersed in the bus industry throughout his life – engaged in driving, maintaining, procuring, and overseeing the dispatch of buses.
Matt’s involvement dates back to his high school years, having contributed significantly to the family enterprises from a young age. Besides his dedication to the business, he pursued an education in Health and Fitness, concurrently pursuing a career as a professional MMA fighter. Meanwhile, Victoria follows in her mother’s footsteps, engaged as a teacher’s Educational Assistant and working toward completing her master’s degree in education. During her free time from teaching, she actively participates in company operations, eagerly anticipating interactions with new individuals and the chance to expand her expertise in this fresh pursuit.

Drug + Alcohol Testing
- All our Highway Coach Drivers participate in a rigorous drug and alcohol testing program, where they undergo random sampling tests without prior notice. They fully comprehend the vital importance of maintaining their peak performance in terms of driving competence at all times. This ensures that they consistently deliver their best and prioritize the safety of our passengers.
